Little Kicks Program The Little Kicks Program introduces children ages 4 years to kindergarteners to the traditional martial art of Seido Karate in a safe and nurturing setting. Children are encouraged to have fun while improving concentration and coordination. We provide a positive classroom environment for children to develop the social skills of cooperation and respect and learn the mental and physical elements of Seido karate. Students are taught the skill building curriculum of Seido karate with a game-based teaching methodology which is suited to the developmental needs of this young age group and inspires them to enjoy the challenges of learning. Students in Little Kicks wear a full karate gi (uniform), and obi (belt) and are rewarded in the Seido karate belt system. This system of colored belts rewards effort, discipline and commitment and encourages students to establish and accomplish goals.
Teachers The Little Kicks instructors are Kyoshi Sarah Ludden and Senpai Joshua Keesecker. Kyoshi Sarah, a 5th degree black belt in Seido Karate, received her Bachelor's degree in education and a Master's degree in Audiology. She is the co-executive director of Thousand Waves and a head instructor in the adult and children's programs. Senpai Joshua, the Children's Special Programs Coordinator, is a first degree black belt in Seido Karate. He teaches in all of the Children's programs as well as Adult white belt classes.
