Sponsorship Opportunities

As a 501 (c)(3) not for profit organization, Thousand Waves relies on and welcomes the generosity of individuals and organizational donors in funding our programs. Donations are accepted for any amount and at any time on our donation page.

In addition to our general community programs, organizations and individuals interested in a more robust sponsorship partnership with Thousand Waves can consider the following opportunities:

Adapted Seido Karate (ASK) – People with disabilities experience violence at highly elevated rates, and youth are among the most frequent targets of bullying. Our ASK program is a partnership with the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago’s Caring for Kids program, and offers ongoing karate training to kids with disabilities. Sponsorship opportunities include being the program’s Presenting Sponsor at the $15,000 annual level.

Self-Defense and Violence Prevention – Thousand Waves has been designing and implementing practical and effective self-defense and violence prevention programs since 1985. At our center, we offer short-term programs for individuals seeking skills to make their lives and communities safer. In the field, we offer our programs to school, non-profit, faith-based, and other groups. No individual or group is turned away for an inability to afford our full fees. Sponsorship opportunities include being a Presenting Sponsor for one of our 90 minute workshops that are open to the public at the $1,500 level.

General Sponsorship – Thousand Waves has always been committed to expanding access to all of our programs and to serving diverse communities. We keep our fees low and offer scholarships for all of our programming by supplementing our operations with donations from individuals and organizations. We accept general operating support in any amount, but have an exclusive Thousand Waves Angel sponsorship level offered at the $25,000 level.
