Progress Report on PeaceWorks Planning

I wish so much I could tell you the names of the amazing teachers we have selected to teach at the 2014 PeaceWorks Conference, but unfortunately I can’t until March 1st when the NWMAF board will give final approval to the program we are proposing and the contracts with the trainers are signed. In the meantime though, let me entice you with these tidbits. Read on for the details, then sign up here. The Early Bird Discounted Registration period will end on March 15th!
PeaceWorks will offer the opportunity to train with over 50 top notch instructors. Every timeslot will offer several choices of classes from the Martial Arts Path, plus two offerings from the Self-Defense / Violence Prevention Path and at least one offering from the Health and Healing Path.
The Martial Arts Path will have tremendous variety including: Weapons (Chinese Sword, Arnis, Kali, Iaido, Bo, Nunchaku, Indonesian Weapons and Weapons Sparring , Kata, Empty Hand Chinese Arts (Push Hands, Bagua, Xing Yi, Tai Chi), Many Types of Close-Range Training with Partners (Jiu Jitsu, Kajukenbo, Judo, Okinawan Karate), Plus, Sparring, Capoeira, Aikido and Board Breaking.
The Young Martial Artists Path will have more offerings than ever before in anticipation of TW girls and teens attending in great numbers, including several classes that are just for teens! Offerings include: Aikido, Arnis, Board Breaking, Capoeira, Jiu Jitsu, Karate Games, Kicking, Performing, Self-Defense and much more.
The Health and Healing Path will feature Qi Gong, Healing Touch, Meditation, Fitness Training and more.
The Self-Defense / Violence Prevention Path features both discussion and movement centered classes. They will be of great interest to all self-defense teachers, plus those who aspire to teach self-defense in the future.
