Testing Alone for Shodan

As a rare confluence of circumstance, when it came time to compile a testing group for the April 25, 2015 black belt test, Arturo Jauregui was the only student who was ready. So with the support of the entire dojo, he tested alone for first degree black belt.

During the basics portion of his test, Arturo received and assimilated detailed feedback on many aspects of his form.

Here, he receives correction from Jun Shihan Sarah on how to control someone after he has taken them to the ground.

During the self-defense role-play portion of the test, facilitated by Senpai Amy, Arturo demonstrates how he would de-escalate an upset client, played by Sensei Susan.

In addition to demonstrating his knowledge of the curriculum, Arturo was asked to demonstrate his ability to teach it.
At last, the test was complete and Senpai Arturo was awarded his black belt.
