TW Developing New Public Resources,
Sneak Peek at Harassment Handout
After launching our new website four months ago to wide acclaim, Thousand Waves is busily creating a set of public resources which will be added to the website in coming months. The resources include a media center, photo archives, a more expanded mission and history section, and a full set of violence prevention and self-defense resources-free and downloadable. We are providing readers with a sneak peak of these resources by sharing a handout about responding to harassment.
"Thousand Waves prides itself in being a resource to those seeking violence prevention and self-defense strategies," says Violence Prevention Director Marie O'Brien. "It is part of our mission to share these tools with our local community, through programs at our Center, and through workshop we provide to groups in and around Chicago. But for those whom we cannot directly serve, we will now be able to offer online tools and resources to equip individuals with effective strategies to respond to violence and to create peace in their communities."
Thousand Waves will announce the additional resources in an upcoming KIAI edition. Please take a sneak peek at one of the pdfs that will be in our resources section, and tell us what you think! The attached resource is a concise 2-page handout to help us identify and respond to harassment wherever it happens- at school, in the workplace, at home, and in public spaces. We welcome your feedback!
